Hello Siblings,
Your LinkedIn Big Sister here!
Let me start by saying: I know I've been quiet. And I owe you an update.
But hear me out. I've been outside. And not in the 'visiting mummy and dodging small talk with aunties' kind of way…
Last month was a whirlwind. I landed two major gigs from two amazing clients (yes, two!), and together, they brought in more income than juggling multiple clients the previous month. Life was life-ing.
But that's not all. I also showed up more online than ever before:
✅ Made 10 video contents.
✅ Hosted my first ever LinkedIn live party to celebrate hitting 20,000 followers.
✅ Crossed 500 followers on Instagram.
✅ Grew my X account to almost 1,000 followers.
✅ Graduated a batch of my mentees (some even sent monetary appreciation alerts😂).
✅ Read 8 books (your Big Sis still reads o!).
✅ Participated in a Web3 Hackathon (yes, I wore my tech sis crown 👑).
✅ Built solid new connections.
✅ Invested heavily in skincare (soft girl era loading…).
Now, I know this might sound like I had it all together, but let me be real with you.
✅ I ate late most days (Imagine having dinner at 9PM…😭).
✅ I didn't go to the gym at all (evening walks count, right?).
✅ And I got a B in one of my Master's exams. It's still good, but last month I had an A, so yes, my perfectionist heart felt it.
Now that you're all up to date, let's get started!
First of all, Happy New Month! It's the second half of the year, which means you have six more months to show up, lock in, and make your goals fear you.
And believe me, six months is plenty of time, if you're intentional.
Earlier this week, I had a brief sit-down with myself (in the mirror, of course). I looked myself dead in the eye and said, "Madam, we're halfway through the year, what exactly are we doing?"
Because honestly? The term "time flies" really applies to this year. One moment you're jumping up and down screaming "Happy New Year!", and trying to pen down new year's resolutions. And the next? Those resolutions are buried under your bed somewhere, next to that book you swore you'd read.
But before you fall into panic mode or start beating yourself up, let me say this: You're not behind. You're simply due for a reset. And that's what we're doing today.
Now, I know we're in the second half of the year, which means you technically have six whole months ahead. But listen, we're not about to tackle 180 days in one breath. That's how people enter burnout and start negotiating with their pillows by mid-August.
We're breaking it down like smart, intentional people. Just 90 days for now. Then we regroup and do it again. That's how real growth sticks, one focused stretch at a time. Because this isn't a race to December. This is me helping you build a rhythm that actually works.
✨ Let’s Get Practical
This time, I'm not asking you to juggle 15 goals like a circus performer. You've tried that. You've also seen how it ends: overwhelmed, burnt out, and watching Netflix with your to-do list quietly judging you from the corner.
This time, you're going with one goal. Yes, you heard me. One goal, one strategy, with 90 days ahead of you.
So if your current list has things like, "I'll build a personal brand, I'll also get a remote job, launch a side hustle, and become emotionally stable and I'll do all these by next week," I need you to press backspace. Firmly.
Here's the better question; "What will move the needle for you right now? What will make you really proud if I actually commit to it for 90 days? What have you been dancing around like it owes you money?
Maybe it's finally posting consistently on LinkedIn.
Maybe it's rewriting your CV and applying for roles that stretch you.
Maybe it's pitching your offer like you know you're the prize.
Or finally building that portfolio that’s been "loading" since March.
Whatever it is, choose it. Own it and stand by it for the next 90 days. So that the next time someone asks, "What are you working on these days?" you won't have to start your answer with "Errrm…"
🔧 Now, Let's Talk Strategy
A goal without structure? That's just wishful thinking with lipstick. Sadly, this is where many people freeze. They know what they want, but they don't map out how to get it. That's why their goals collapse faster than cheap Wi-Fi during a Zoom call.
Here's how to fix that:
Break your goal into weekly tasks. Schedule time for it ("I’ll do it later" is a scam). Track your progress (we're not guessing this time). Get accountability (text a friend, post it online, or better still, tell your Big Sister😉).
You don’t need a 20-step master plan. You just need a simple system that says: " Here's what I'm doing. And this is how I intend to keep showing up."
90 days from now, you'll either:
1. Be proud of how you stayed consistent, or
2. Be thinking, "If I started back in July, I'd be done by now."
And let's be honest, that second feeling stings. Worse than rejection emails that start with "Unfortunately".
Even if this year didn't begin the way you hoped, don't count yourself out. Some of the most powerful shifts happen in the second half. The momentum can still be yours, if you move with intention.
So now that we've had our little Big Sister moment…
What's your One Goal for the next 90 days?
Reply and tell me. No pressure, no judgment. Just your resident Big Sister rooting for you (and occasionally dragging you if needed).
P.S. Don't overthink it. Start. Adjust. Repeat. The second half of the year is yours.
